Delay Management
“Coordination of resources during regular and irregular operations is key to a successful operation, ensuring maximum performance and continuing customer satisfaction. [PASSUR OPSnet allows Denver International] to be fully ready for the increased or decreased airport demand, ensuring we’re ready for every scenario.”
-- Denver International Airport
PASSUR delay and operational performance solutions provide the airport with the most accurate situational awareness in real time. These solutions enable instant decision-making; support automated systems such as gate management programs; and provide detailed reports and visual replays for post-operations analysis. They are also easily integrated into airport communications and emergency management centers for distributing instant messaging and alerts on a common operational platform over the Web.
Delays and performance of the airport used to be viewed as strictly airline and ATC issues. Not any more – airports are now being asked what they can do to squeeze more performance out of the existing aviation infrastructure, assist with passenger care during frequent delays, and manage more common-use facilities such as gates and terminals.
If an airport manages gates, then it needs the best real-time and post-ops tools to ensure the most efficient and financially solid utilization of those assets – to best serve its tenant airlines, the public, and the financial health of the operation.
Any spot maintenance of the runways and taxiways the airport has to perform should ideally be done with minimal disruption to the operational flow of traffic. Especially during irregular operations like weather events, it is critical for the airport to time its actions with the real-time operational flows – which is only possible with a real-time view of key operational metrics.
Get both live and post-operational reports:
Live
- Airspace visualization: real-time true-tracking based on the PASSUR radar, for a precise view of the terminal airspace (vectors, holds, flow-through-fixes, miles-in-trail, base-leg turns)
- Airspace/airport performance analysis (real-time): live dashboard providing an overall score of the airport’s current efficiency, and a snapshot of multiple additional live variables
- Flight status: delay alerts, ETAs, filed flight plans
- Operational dashboards: expected arrival and departure demand over the next 4 hours; current runway configuration; current and forecasted weather
- Data feeds: for gate/AODB systems
- Timing spot runway and taxiway maintenance: to coincide with operational peaks and valleys in traffic flow, to minimize disruption
- Coordination, collaboration, consistent information: real-time messaging and alerts from the airport operations/communications centers to all tenants, on a single situational-awareness dashboard
Post-Operational
- Airspace visualization and flight event replays: for analysis of individual flight events, delay or noise scenarios, runway utilization patterns, etc.
- Aviation statistics reports: runway use, delays, turn times, gate utilization reports
- Airspace/airport analysis (historical): looks at the same grid of multiple variables and metrics as the live tool described above, but in reports filtered and sorted by the user
