Washington Dulles International Airport Announces Contract for PASSUR Web-Based Software Platform for Instant Communication
Greenwich, CT, February 15, 2005 - Megadata Corporation (OTC: MDTA) announced today that Washington Dulles International Airport has contracted for a suite of PASSUR software subscription services designed to create instant collaborative decision making between the airport, airlines and FAA, and to achieve greater efficiencies and cost savings in operations, through more accurate flight information: PASSUR OPSnet™, Portal™, and PASSUR inSight™.
"We know that these new, proven PASSUR web tools are going to address very real needs we have as a carrier community, in helping us manage complex resource constraints through a remarkably simple web program," said Peter Bouffard, operations manager for Independence Air, and co-chair of the Dulles OPSnet Management Committee "We have used PASSUR software for years in our system and station operations, and have come to rely on its accuracy and effectiveness" added Paul Garcia, operations manager for United Airlines Dulles, and co-chair of the Dulles OPSnet Management Committee. "We're pleased that everyone, including the FAA, carriers, General Aviation, and the Airport authority, are all on board OPSnet."
"Dulles International's adoption of a breadth of our web-based information tools confirms that forward-looking airports know the way of the future is in collaborative web services," said Jim Barry, Megadata President and CEO. "When an airport invests in PASSUR, it is gaining a suite of information and decision support tools to address a range of needs, from landing fee management, public information, collaborative decision making, and performance analysis."
Through an arrangement with Dulles International Airport, both the airport authority and all carriers will gain access to the suite of PASSUR "web dashboard" information, communication, and collaboration software.
PASSUR OPSnet is a web tool that creates instant communication and information sharing with all key players of the airport community in real time, in a secure environment, resulting in coordinated decision making, effective use of resources, and consistent public information. It is being deployed at IAD this winter, as a tool for managing departure allocations during deicing operations. OPSnet will unite Dulles airport operations, the carriers, FBOs, and FAA onto a single communications and information sharing platform for the first time.
PASSUR Portal reinvents the way the aviation industry accesses timely, accurate and complete information for tasks such as gate and connections management, airfield optimization, and landing fee management. It provides a web window onto the one-of-a-kind PASSUR database of live flight information affordably and simply, and is also the access point for all other PASSUR web services.
PASSUR inSight is the only web-based flight following program that combines national en-route flight tracking with precision, terminal-area tracking from the PASSUR network of radar, along with a next-generation graphics engine for real motion tracking and aircraft movement and the renowned PASSUR ETA.
