Wayne County Airport Authority Contracts for PASSUR Pulse Landing Fee Management Program for Detroit Metro and Willow Run Airports; Authority Will Use Pulse Audit Module to Enhance Accuracy, Completeness of Landing Fee Collection
Greenwich, CT, December 8, 2006 — Megadata Corporation (OTC: MDTA) announced today that Wayne County Airport Authority has purchased a subscription to PASSUR® Pulse™ software for landing fee management, for both Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) and Willow Run Airport (YIP).
“Our objective is to ensure that the airport authority has much greater visibility into, and control over, this important source of our revenue,” said Raul Fernandez, Vice President Financial Planning for the Wayne County Airport Authority. “We believe our new PASSUR program, by ensuring that landing fee collection is based on the true landed weights and exact segments flown, will help us serve our tenant customers better, by assuring them that the landing fee program is being applied equitably, professionally, and efficiently. After extensive analysis, we have found PASSUR Pulse to be accurate, time saving and ultimately resulting in more complete and quicker revenue collection. We are especially pleased that the PASSUR system covers both our airports.”
“Detroit Airport Authority is a smart and innovative operator, and we’re pleased to be partnered with them,” said Jim Barry, President and CEO of Megadata, which owns PASSUR. “I believe they are pointing the way to the future, by clearly recognizing that airports must have the information and tools to control their landing fee revenue, both at the main airport and the GA/cargo/reliever facility. We also know from our airline customers that the carriers welcome this initiative being taken by airports like Detroit, because they know that PASSUR data will ensure the most precise and fair spread of the landing fee load, and the PASSUR reports will allow them to plan ahead financially.”
The airport will use PASSUR Pulse software to track, audit and capture all landing fee revenue. In addition, DTW is home to considerable wide-body diversion activity, and will use Pulse to ensure these flights are accurately captured in the landing fee revenue stream.
PASSUR Pulse gives airports access to the most complete, accurate and timely activity reports of arrivals and departures, based on the PASSUR radar record and integrated database of flight information, including detailed owner/operator information, maximum certificated weights by tail number, seat configurations, runway utilization, turn times, and other details in aggregate and by individual flight.
